Organic solar cells over 6% efficient

This week, researchers reported on polymer solar cells that convert about 6.1 percent of the energy in sunlight into electricity–inching a bit closer to the 10 percent that they say will be needed to gain a significant foothold in the market. Polymer solar cells have been increasing at a rate of about 1 percent a year.
